Letter Home

Dear Mom and Dad,
This picture was taken just after my promotion. The sand bags in the background are my
bunker. We had two NVA try to sneak into our lines last night, probably trying to get to the fuel cells behind my
area. They were spotted and we called M-79 (40mm grenade launcher) fire on the area and got rid of them. Sure glad
my guards were on their toes and not asleep.
There is a rumor going around they might move us to FireBase-29. I hope not, cause the last couple of companies up
there were overrun. I talked to the Brigade S-3 last night and he seems to think we aren't going anywhere, especially
not to 29.
Guess what? I've gained about 10 or 12 pounds since I got here. I told you I wood. I'm also growing a mustache.
