17 APR 1969Dear Mom and Dad,
We just finished moving to An Khe, where we are going to start a pacification program. We will search
and clear the area, then help the people by medical and dental teams, schools, relocating small villages to
form larger more easily defended areas.
I have been interviewed about the job of Company Commander of "Delta" Company. Since I still
have almost five months before I make Captain, this is really a great honor and compliment. I don't
know for sure if they will be able to find a Captain for the job, but even if they do, just being asked mean
a lot.
I found an unusual toy that demonstrates one of Newton's laws of motion and it will be getting there soon.
I don't have to file any tax until 90 days after I return to the world.
