19 Apr 1969Dear Mom and Dad,
They got a new Captain into the Battalion, who took the Company Commander slot I was offered, but it still
was a great honor to be considered at all and it just about assures me a Company when I make Captain.
We have moved to An Khe to start a pacification program down there. It should be quite a change to try to
make friends with them instead of trying to kill them. It will be a rest for a while at least. I had to
type up some forms, so I thought I would write and let you know how I was. I really don't have much to say
except that I'm doing just fine.
I haven't got much time because I have to take this report over to G4 and talk them into accepting it before
they close shop.
