Letter Home
1 OCT 1968

Dear Mom and Dad,

We got notified last night to be ready to take choppers out and help four people out within 30 minutes, so we got ready and waited for 30 hours before we got the OK to unpack. I got two hours sleep before my RTO (radio telephone operator) woke me up because we had some movement on the NE perimeter. I went out to check it out, but saw nothing. We fired some 40mm grenade launcher rounds at the area and I formed a 5 man patrol to check out the area. They found nothing but some old chi-com grenades and a few fresh trails. I really keep busy, that's why I haven't been able to write every day.

Our mail service is getting poor out here, so I am not getting many letters. I have to go now, again, so bye for now

Love,
Homer
