31 JAN 70Dear Mom and Dad,
I am at FSB Hard Times now. The Company is on fire base defense until after the Tet Offensive. In a few
days I'll be going to Battalion for a staff job until I DEROS. I need the staff experience for the future
promotions. I will probably be TOC OIC, which means I will run the Battalion Tactical Operations Center.
In reality I'll probably be doing a little of just about everything. It will be a busy, safe, and easy way
to end up my tour.
I won't be taking my R&R, so I can get in a full 60 days as TOC OIC and get the job title on my records. I
can't really think of much to say, so I guess I'll just say bye for now. and easy way to end up my tour.
